Named for the year it was constructed, 17Hundred90 provides a dining experience without equal in a historic city which prides itself in showering visitors in the unhurried luxury and service of times gone by.

A living time capsule of America's earliest decades, 17Hundred90 captures the authentic flavor of an eighteenth century river port hotel and restaurant while working diligently to provide wonderful new memories for our guests.

                            17Hundred90 Restaurant, Savannah – 12/23 While in Savannah, we had dinner at 17Hundred90 Restaurant. Known for its historic charm, the restaurant also serves as part of an inn, offering a unique setting. We arrived at 4:30 PM for our 5:15 PM reservation and waited in the tavern. The atmosphere there was less welcoming than expected—the locals seemed cliquish, and the bartender, though efficient, was not particularly friendly. Once seated, the dining area was cozy, though the inn’s entrance lacked polish, with exposed cases of sodas and juices in the office area detracting from the overall ambiance. The Meal •Appetizer: We started with the escargot in puff pastry. The flavors were excellent, but the presentation—a single large pastry—made it difficult to share. Offering this dish in smaller, bite-sized portions would be more practical and enjoyable for guests. •Complimentary Biscuits: The standout of the meal was the warm biscuit served with honey butter drizzle. Even my husband, who doesn’t typically like biscuits, loved it. •Entrees: •I had the lamb shank, which was tender but overwhelmed by too much tomato sauce, masking the natural flavors. •My husband ordered the ribeye steak, which was perfectly cooked and seasoned—a true highlight of the evening. •Wine: We shared a bottle of Malbec that paired well with the meal. Service The service was polite but lacked attentiveness. Our server didn’t check in until we were already halfway through the meal, which felt delayed. Cost Our total came to $185, including one appetizer, two entrees, a bottle of wine, and a 20% tip. This pricing is comparable to other local restaurants like 45 Bistro, which we also visited earlier in the week. However, 45 Bistro offered a more refined experience overall. Final Thoughts, I’d recommend it for a one-time visit, but I wouldn’t return.

                            This has been our go-to restaurant whenever we're in Savannah, but tonight's experience was somewhat disappointing. The Fried Green Tomatoes were great as always (as are the biscuits), but our entrees were only fair. My Pasta Primavera with chicken was much too salty; my dinner partner commented that the risotto served with his shrimp was overseasoned. The service was excellent, and we love the ambiance of this place.

                            I discovered this restaurant on a murder/mystery pub crawl. I surprised wife and carried her to dinner here. Everything was perfect. Our waiter, Parker, was great. I had the ribeye steak and my wife had a cream cheese stuffed chicken breast. Everything was cooked to perfection. The history of the restaurant and inn just add to the experience. Highly recommend and will definitely dine here again.
