   Food and service were both brilliant only problem was we weren’t told that there was a discretionary 10% service charge already added to the bill so not happy about that but everything else was fine.

   We waited 15 minutes for our Bang In Season order to be taken. The baby leaks with crab had leaks which were difficult to either cut or chew as they were stringy. The main course of rib of shorthorn beef and hispi cabbage and black truffle butter was close to inedible. My first strip of rib was entirely fat, the remaining strips were relatively tough. The effect of the butter on the cabbage made it greasy and the gravy/jus the dish was served with was unpleasant. Overall, poor and not what one would expect for £70 per head. The head waiter visited the table partway through, was very pleasant and offered us more bread which was nice. Unfortunately, he appeared to forget about it as it never arrived. Much later through the meal we asked a waitress if she could bring some so we could mop up the lovely sauce cod was served with. This would’ve been wasted otherwise as it really needed to be served with a spoon as well to take advantage of it after eating the cod with the knife and fork provided

   We had the bang in season five course taster menu with the addition of the optional cheese course….divine. I’d like to say I had a favourite but they were all delicious. I love fish and shellfish and this taster menu had 3 dishes incorporated, scallops, crab and cod, the crab might have just pipped it!! Our servers were great and gave us just enough attention without being overwhelmed. Great suggestions for wine choices as we didn’t opt for the wine flight, from budget to expensive without judgement. A lovely evening

   All aspects of the evening were great apart from harsh pop music. If music has to be played it should be calm and soothing rather than club or rave.

    A perfect Sunday Mother’s Day lunch. Food was sublime. Staff were extremely professional and attentive, especially the young maitre d whose attention to detail went far beyond our expectations. All in all, a wonderful experience.
