Two Michelin-starred and New York Times Three-starred Aquavit, located in Midtown Manhattan showcases seasonal, Modern Nordic fare and has been a pioneer of Nordic cuisine since opening in 1987. The restaurant has an extensive wine list as well as an aquavit infusion and cocktail program. The Dining Room serves a 2 or 3 course prix fixe menu for lunch and a 5 course tasting menu or a Chef's tasting menu for dinner.

    Fabulous food -we have eaten here many times but this was the best ever Superb beverage director Erik Westman -we knew him at Batard great list

    We went for lunch, and overall our experience was just okay. The lunch menu was structured in a very unintuitive way - we shouldn’t need an explanation of the menu to understand what our options are. Service was a little cold and disorganized. The food was fine, but did not reach the standard we would expect from a two Michelin star sea food restaurant.

    I used to come here back in the day early 90s and it was a two hour lunch business lunch. If you know what I mean and it was always wonderful so after 25 years, my friend and I wanted to come back and just check it out and it did not disappoint, it was amazing. We had wanted the flight of Aquivit, but they no longer offered it. I made an excellent choice and the Aquivit was amazing. OP. We had a flight of herring. so delicious. the flavors are extraordinary. The staff was very nice; a little quick, but no worries. We went during lunch in the summer, so it was light. There wasn’t an Amuse-bouche. 😔 But at least they didn’t charge for a bread service. The bread was delicious along with a leek butter, which was superb. My guest and I both had fish. I had king salmon, and she had cod. It was a whisper. If you can understand what I mean by a “whisper”. The fish was perfection. And the dessert was good. it was satisfying. They have a menu of either a two course or a three course, which is very good for the value. I would probably go for the two course next time. I am looking forward to to the next time!!     Aquavit has always been one my wife’s favorites. I am happy to have gone there for the first time to celebrate an anniversary with her. It was a great experience!
