Ava's menu will feature inspired Italian cuisine prepared in a simple and rustic fashion. Central to our vision will be house cured salumi, fresh hand made pasta and Neapolitan pizza cooked at 900 degrees in our Italian-made Acunto pizza oven. Ingredients will be fresh, seasonal, and local whenever possible.
Ava has limited seating, reservations may be inside or outside. We attempt to accommodate special requests, please let us know what your preference may be in the "add a special request' field. However, we can't guarantee all table requests. We look forward to serving you.

Great food and pretty restaurant atmosphere. Only draw back was the servers were barely dressed- and it wasn’t Gasparilla weekend. Their attire was not classy or elegant for a nice restaurant.

The service was excellent, and the food was good/very good. The tie yellowtail hamachi appetizer was heavenly, while the meatball appetizer was average. The bolognese and vaccinara pasta were good but not exceptional. The grilled veggies were okay, and the zeppole was very good.

We were seated fast and had big table of 8 inside. The food was served quick and excellent. We enjoyed the vibe and decor. The server was responsive and nice.

Food was not great, steak and salmon was good. Bread was very oily. Walnut and apple 🥗 had a odd taste.

I’m pretty disappointed in Ava. Unlike every other restaurant on OpenTable that displayed clearly that a set/pre-fixe menu was being served (listed as an “experience”), Ava displayed nothing when I booked the reservation (my wife is vegan so I was not looking for pre-fixe). It wasn’t until I was asked to confirm the reservation (within the 48hrs so I’d get a fee if i cancel) that there was a tiny sentence displayed that they were doing a set menu (with no vegan option but I spoke with someone who told me they would still be doing the vegan parm and vegan chunk steak. Plus, when I called, they told me the vegan parm was going to be $24 on the Valentines menu and it was $75… The food was okay (appetizers and desserts were not good, but main entrees were good - minus the wagyu NY strip begin half a strip (but very tasty) and the mashed potatoes were puréed/consistency of instant mash), but not $300 for 2 people okay. Waitress was very nice/good though. There’s also a forced 20% service charge… on a party of 2… that isn’t disclosed on OpenTable or their website. This experience really rubbed me the wrong way, so we probably won’t be back.

We had a wonderful meal, and great service! We are visiting Tampa, and so glad to have enjoyed this restaurant. We’ll be in Tampa again in the Fall and will definitely eat at Ava again!
