Our experience at Azumi was mixed. While the food was good, the service left much to be desired - from the hostess to the waiter.
The reservation request was for a booth, but upon arrival, we were told booths weren’t available for parties of two. However, throughout our meal, we noticed multiple two-person parties seated in booths, which was frustrating. The hosts were dismissive and made no effort to accommodate our request.
Our waiter seemed overwhelmed, rarely checked on us, and didn’t offer menu recommendations. We also had to ask multiple times for condiments, which made the dining experience feel inattentive.
Most dishes were tasty—I’d rate it a 9/10. Highly recommended the spicy edamame, beef tenderloin and fried rice. Their take on the spider roll was underwhelming and lacked the usual bold flavors I expected.
Overall, while the food was impressive, the lackluster service significantly detracted from the experience. I’d consider returning for the food, but hope they improve their hospitality.
