The Bali Hai Restaurant has been a favorite in San Diego for over fifty years. Our spectacular views of the San Diego bay and the downtown skyline make us the perfect location for any special event. Along with our dining room upstairs, our premise possesses three different and versatile private rooms. The flexibility of multiple private facilities allows us to accommodate any type of party. We host weddings, class reunions, birthdays, anniversaries, concerts, memorials, festivals, fundraisers, business meetings, seminars, and corporate events.

This was our first visit to the restaurant part of the Bali Hai. We had visited the casual bar the previous evening and had such a good time, we resolved to book a table for the full meal experience. Bali Hai has an awesome location with excellent views across the water to downtown San Diego. It has a rich and interesting history and as Tiki culture fans, it was an absolute must do during our trip. We were very optimistic, but have been disappointed before with overhyped venues. However we needn't have worried as Bali Hai exceeded all of our expectations! Firstly the staff are lovely and helpful. Next our table had gorgeous views of San Diego. Now to the drinks, we recommend the signature Mai Tais which are off the charts perfection (very strong and a limit of 2 per person, although only one is required!). Then the food is so exceptional with beautiful presentation and amazing flavours! To cap it off the atmosphere is lovely - it's like being whisked away to a beautiful Polynesian island! We found the cost to be excellent value for the quality of food and drinks as well as the stunning location and quality of the experience. Mahalo! Bali Hai, we have wonderful memories and look foward to returning soon!

Food was good. Meats were a bit on the dry side, but everything else was great. Phenomenal views. Great brunch.

Our group brunch was amazing! The ambiance was incredible with a beautiful view. The atmosphere was welcoming and clean. The food was very delicious and plentiful. Our waiter was very attentive and friendly. Definitely worth eating here again.

Beautiful restaurant, server was inattentive. The manager did a good job of having his back. Food was hit or miss amongst my group. Nice place just needs service to match the ambiance.

We had an incredible experience! They sat us next to the water per our request and Isaac was our waiter - he gave us excellent service. The food was phenomenal as always. We bring out of state visitors here whenever they come. Highly recommend!

We ordered a salad, edamame, 2 scoops of rice, & 2 wok fried bass dishes. The fish was good but the sauce was a disappointment. This was our go-to place to get the fried whole fish w/ponzu sauce and veggies. However, this time it was more like a gravy consistency (changed recipe) and a lot of vegetables that they did not add before, such as large carrots, onions, bell pepper, seaweed, and pickled onions. The rice was super crunchy and undercooked. Really disappointed! Service was good. Picturesque view of the SD Bay was awesome!
