Celebrating its 118th Year, Barbetta is the oldest restaurant in New York still owned by its founding family. Barbetta is also New York's oldest Italian restaurant and the oldest restaurant in the Theater District. This three-fold distinction has earned it landmark status by the Locali Storici d'Italia. In a glittering interior decorated with 18th century Italian antiques Barbetta serves the cuisine of Piemonte, Italy's northwestern most region. In summer, its exuberantly verdant garden with century-old trees and scented with the blooms of wisteria, oleander, jasmine and gardenia make it a most sought-after site for al fresco dining.

                              Price fixe only menu seemed routine and nothing special. Service was mediocre ; not usual maitre de present. Enjoyed past visits , primarily in garden during the summer. This was somehow different. Menu needs updating. Seems more items on menu for price supplement. Restaurant should think about that.

                              The food is good the service was very good. This is an old-style restaurant with good service. The menu is pretty good for Northern Italian cuisine. Alot of fish and pasta choices not many meat choices. This restaurant is worth a try but not for everyone.

                              We had a superb experience. Our waiter was the wait staff captain Ramon and he ensured that our dinner was perfect in every way. The food is out of this world. We had the pre-theatre dinner and the portions were ideal over four courses. The restaurant has old-world elegance and charm and it’s a gem on Restaurant Row. We’ll be back!

                              When we entered the restaurant, it looked absolutely amazing and beautifully decorated for the holidays. Having everyone check their winter coats was a great thing because the restaurant looked even nicer without all those coats hanging over the chairs. The elegant holiday music really set the tone for the evening. The Beet salad was absolutely awesome. The Seabass was cooked to perfection. And the Lemon and pistachio tart was the perfect ending to a phenomenal dinner. Thanks for the awesome service from everyone that approached our table.

                              Awesome Restaurant. We found out about this restaurant when we visited the small town of Fubine in the Piemonte area of Italy. The dishes at Barbetta brought us back to Italy. Very authentic. We will return many times. Thanks to Ramondo and staff for making our night perfect.

                              If you are looking for authentic true Italian old world cooking look no further. And excellent menu and presentation in an "old world" environment with antiques from the doors to the floors all beautifully preserved. Out waitstaff was very experienced and clearly had worked there for many years as all the services were elegant and second nature. Excellent Steak and Braised beef with rich flavours. Just a three minute walk to the Lena Horne Theatre after a luscious dessert. A great experience that we intend to repeat!
