Celebrating its 118th Year, Barbetta is the oldest restaurant in New York still owned by its founding family. Barbetta is also New York's oldest Italian restaurant and the oldest restaurant in the Theater District. This three-fold distinction has earned it landmark status by the Locali Storici d'Italia. In a glittering interior decorated with 18th century Italian antiques Barbetta serves the cuisine of Piemonte, Italy's northwestern most region. In summer, its exuberantly verdant garden with century-old trees and scented with the blooms of wisteria, oleander, jasmine and gardenia make it a most sought-after site for al fresco dining.

We had a superb experience. Our waiter was the wait staff captain Ramon and he ensured that our dinner was perfect in every way. The food is out of this world. We had the pre-theatre dinner and the portions were ideal over four courses. The restaurant has old-world elegance and charm and it’s a gem on Restaurant Row. We’ll be back!

Great old style Italian restaurant. Great food. Excellent service. Loved the formality of the waiters. A lovely pre theatre place to dine.

Wonderful evening. Eduardo made the experience memorable. This restaurant is a must for its history and charm. Best bufala I have ever tasted.

When we entered the restaurant, it looked absolutely amazing and beautifully decorated for the holidays. Having everyone check their winter coats was a great thing because the restaurant looked even nicer without all those coats hanging over the chairs. The elegant holiday music really set the tone for the evening. The Beet salad was absolutely awesome. The Seabass was cooked to perfection. And the Lemon and pistachio tart was the perfect ending to a phenomenal dinner. Thanks for the awesome service from everyone that approached our table.

Awesome Restaurant. We found out about this restaurant when we visited the small town of Fubine in the Piemonte area of Italy. The dishes at Barbetta brought us back to Italy. Very authentic. We will return many times. Thanks to Ramondo and staff for making our night perfect.

The food and service were excellent. We are the roasted red beets and lolla Rosa lettuces salad, tarajin and agnolotti pastas. For dessert we have the espresso chocolate cake. Everything we ate was outstanding. The service was top notch.
