At Barque our mission is to create new and memorable BBQ experiences for our guests, accomplished through our combination of modern culinary techniques, traditional in-house Southern smoking, and a belief in true hospitality. We’ve been proud to present this original approach to BBQ in the heart of Toronto’s Roncesvalles Village since 2011.

We are a full wage restaurant as designated by the Ontario Living Wage Network. Staff also receive extended health benefits, including dedicated mental health care, and also paid sick/personal days. Any gratuity is appreciated but unnecessary.

The impact of COVID-19 on our food system has caused an unprecedented rise in costs. Our goal has always been - and will continue to be - to offer the most reasonable prices possible, while keeping the business operational.

Absolutely delicious barbecue brisket, ribs and chicken all delicious and smokey. Snow peas appetizer was fantastic. Service was a bit slow, ambience is a bit sports bar-ish, which is not my favourite but overall a nice place.

Great food. We celebrate a birthday dinner there. The staff were very attentive. It’s one of the few restaurants in the city that support a living wage for the servers. We support this and appreciate this unique establishment.

Good food, but not as good as it has been in the past. Brisket, pulled pork and chicken were great. Ribs a little dry. The sides were either really good or just okay. We're also told we would need to leave our table at a certain time due to another reservation. Completely understand that, but would have been nice to know when the reservation was confirmed vs. 20 minutes after we were seated as we had to go elsewhere to continue our conversation (no more drinks, no dessert at Barque).

Very much enjoyed my meal at Barque. Decent sized portions that were delicious. I also particularly enjoyed the fact that it was not brutally noisy like almost every restaurant is these days. There were plenty of people there but it handles sound well.

As usual, our meal was delicious, with fresh ingredients, delightful smoked flavours and inventive side dishes. The vibe is relaxed and warm, yet professional with great service.

It was OK overall, I recall the food being much better on my previous visit a few years ago.... The price was too high and the food quality was just average. I would not go back....

I feel Barque is an institution in Toronto, known for good BBQ, but turns out I'm living in 2014. Ordered once during 2020-2021 delivery, and it was quite poor, but chalked that up to the fact restaurants were going through a lot in those days. Opted for a date night here, seated, since we thought it would be better, but we were quite disappointed. Service was perfectly fine, but food was tough, dry and almost overpowering on flavor. Sadly, I would not recommend or go back at this point.
