Located in Seattle's Capitol Hill neighborhood, Bateau is a beef-centric, French inspired restaurant with fresh, local ingredients and bold flavors. Bateau has an extensive wine selection including local and imported wines.

This season, we're thrilled to highlight all of the things we love most about Bateau: whole animal butchery, fermentation, foraged & seasonal ingredients, thoughtful service, and the elements of time that allow us to explore an abundance of flavors in our steaks and beyond. You'll have the chance to experience an exquisite Chef's Tasting Menu, a la carte favorites, and an array of steaks on your next visit.

Chef Taylor Thornhill and team will be offering a special 5 course Tasting Menu with the option of selecting a steak from our board, normally offered during service. We are delighted to celebrate the coming of a new year in 2025! $125 per guest, not including tax & service charge. Optional beverage pairing for $85. Non-alcoholic pairings offered for $65. *Please notify of any dietary restrictions. *20% Service Charge applied - 100% of this Service Charge is distributed to our employees per our tip sharing policy.

                                                              Dined here as a special birthday dinner for my son. He was greeted by the host and server with birthday wishes as well as a hand written note on the table. We appreciated the server’s recommendations and they were spot on! The food was delicious, the atmosphere was wonderful, we couldn’t have asked for anything more!

                                                              Great service and food. Cost was double what I paid 3-4 years ago. But it was a special occasion so was worth it. Very memorable experience.

                                                              Not as good as our last visit, sadly.Perhaps just an off night, but: the cuts recommended to us were both chewy, not tender as billed to us. Also, one person's medium rare is not another's, but the steaks were downright blue. More problematic was that our server disappeared halfway through the meal, not to be seen again, with no explanation. Various other staff eventually took our food away, and got us our bill, but we did not feel taken care of. When we left, not so much as a "farewell." It's too bad because we really had a good meal and good service the earlier time we visited, and the concept is fun.
