We are proud to offer 75 kinds of different pasta recipe, fresh and hand-crafted 12 hours a day.
"Bencotto" means cooked well: this is what authentic Italian food is about.
It tastes as it should and would in Italy.
Bencotto offers two different eating environments: guests can either enjoy their meal at our “kitchen-esque” bar downstairs, or they can relax in the intimate low-ceiling dining area upstairs. The décor creates a clean and sophisticated atmosphere, where old-world charm and warmth blend with contemporary appeal.

    Pasta was excellent, cooked perfectly and the sauces were excellent. I particularly liked the squid ink pasta. I do think their tomato sauces are a tad better than their cream sauces, but that's just personal preference.

    Food was excellent and service was good. First cocktail ordered had a very bad aftertaste, so of like gasoline. Restaurant is noisy.

    Pricey for the Quality of the Food. The Ambience was Cold but the Service was wram! The pricing is La Jolla. This establisment is NOT in La Jolla! Advertising is deceitful . Better work on your Menu and especially pricing as you will be empty as you were for my viit more often.

    We ate at 8:45p on a Saturday night and sat upstairs. It was a full house and a little loud with people's voices, but the music was a reasonable volume. We had stuffed zucchini flowers which were just good, but the pasta dishes were amazing. Some of the best gnocchi I've ever had, so soft and fluffy, and the pepper sauce had a little zing. My friend had ravioli with pesto, and a side of Bolognese sauce, which she loved. Our server was good, and our water glasses were never empty.

    Very very loud and not highly staffed so service was very rare but it was great when it came around just needs more staff

    Superb service and great food - enjoyed the short ribs and tagliatelle with lamb ragu, and tiramisu, however calamari was brutally overcooked. Would definitely dine here again!

    The food was great but the service can be improved. First of all, we had an appointment but still waited for 20 min for our table. Also with a two year old toddler, they sat us down at a high chair table - who does that? Some tables had table bread but we weren’t offered any. Lastly, their $19 appetizer of pumpkin flower only come with 4 small pieces - seems a but ridiculous for the price.
