Welcome to Benihana, a dining experience unlike any other! Our guests are seated at communal tables in groups, where your personal chef will perform the ancient art of Teppanyaki. Watch as we slice and dice, preparing a meal that will dazzle your eyes as well taste buds, whether you choose mouth-watering steak, tender chicken or succulent seafood.     The manager (Buddy) was so kind, considerate, concerned, and helpful. Yovani, our chef, did an outstanding job. His presentation was great, and he cooked the food to our satisfaction. This was a good dining experience for my mate and me.

    As always, we waited over 30 minutes to be seated even though we had a reservation. This just seems to be way Benihana operates.

    Had a great birthday at Benihana's in Pleasant Hill. The $30 coupon doesn't go as far as it used to go, but the food was great and the other birthday group on our table made it a great experience.

    Our chef was entertaining and polite. But appeared to be in the early training stage. The timing was off resulting in incomplete/partial meals, and guests waiting for main course while others had finished…

    It was overly crowded people everywhere rsvp were pushed back people standing everywhere no toom in the bar the cook was good but it’s always extremely crowded and unorganized here

    Food is always amazing that’s why me and my family choose to celebrate special occasions here. The thing that was upsetting is I made a reservation for 7pm and was not seated until 810. I believe the restaurant needs to get a handle on this because what is the point on having reservations if we won’t be seated an hour later?

    Waited an hour and 25 minutes past our reservation for the table. Was not warned they were running behind. When we complained at the hour mark, the host did not apologize. She just said,”that’s normal. People have waited much longer.” Waited another hour after being seated for chef to arrive. Orders were mixed up. Chef had to go back to kitchen four times. The check was wrong. There was not a single process that worked as planned. Except for host, everyone was nice about it. Everyone was working hard. I don’t blame the staff. It was clearly poor management and poor training.

    Our party of 3 all ordered the Emperor's Feast (filet mignon and chicken). The filet was overcooked - we all ordered medium. The chef realized at the end of the meal he had not prepared the onion "volcano" so decided to insert at the end of the meal. One party of 4 had 3 people gone to the restroom. After, we were waiting for the server to return and take our dessert order and to sing Happy Birthday (there were 3 people celebrating birthdays). This did not occur so we waited for our checks. After 20 minutes, one person got up to see what happened to our server. Finally a manager came and said the server had a family emergency and had left. Didn't ask if we wanted dessert or anything else. Returned a few minutes later with all the checks. We had to box up our own leftovers and look around to find a bag. We came to Benihana because a relative specifically asked to go there for his birthday. Overall, a very disappointing experience.

    The odor in the hibachi area smelled offensive like an old dirty kitchen. I am sure it was the carpet.

    Took about 25-30 minutes for us to get a chef while seated at the table. But other than that, it went well.
