Welcome to Benihana, a dining experience unlike any other! Our guests are seated at communal tables in groups, where your personal chef will perform the ancient art of Teppanyaki. Waited over an hour to be seated. I had a reservation at 7:15pm and wasn’t seated until 8:15. Food was alright, they didn’t give us green tea, or ice cream that came with our meal and just overall was not worth the wait. Also they charge more chicken fried rice but they don’t tell you!

We always like Benihana, but were disappointed and quite annoyed that we had to wait more than 45 minutes for our 6:00 reservation.

Food was in very small portions! Paid $100 for one plate and didn’t even get half a steak! Food under seasoned and they charged for things that the menu states are included! We were rushed out! Sit, eat and go. Not worth it! Save your money.

Benihana’s is still a nice restaurant to go to for a special occasion. We had a good dinner, but the prices are a little bit pricey for what you get. It seems like they’re cutting back on some of the things that they’re giving you. For example, the onions and the zucchini they give you before was larger portions. The same for my daughter‘s fillet it seemed a little bit on the small side. The soup and the salad are the same. The noise level is consistent with what type of restaurant it is. My only complaint is I like my food medium rare especially my steaks and the cooks. Never seem to get it right. I have to kind of nag at them to get the meat to be cooked, medium rare. I will go back in the future, but for now I am giving it a little bit of a break.

The food is always good but chef used too much oil! The fried rice was made after the vegetables & seafood so that got cold waiting for the rice and steak. Also surprised we now have to pay 80 cents for a little container of ginger sauce. Keep in mind the $39 deal has to be ordered/eaten at the bar not at the teppenyaki tables.

We visited Benihana Lombard for my boyfriend’s birthday on a Saturday evening. The reservation was for 7p, and although we arrived on time, the restaurant was so backed up on reservations that we weren’t seated until 7:45p. After being seated, the dinner went smooth for the most part. Our server was quick and accommodating about some allergies we had in our party, however he didn’t write anything down and therefore kept forgetting parts of our order like drinks and meal choices which was frustrating. Overall the quality of the meal itself was as expected for hibachi. The nail in the coffin on our impression of the evening after an exorbitant wait time and minor inconveniences throughout the meal was the state of the women’s restroom which was a clear health code violation. There were women’s sanitary napkins and soiled balls of bathroom tissue all over the floor, the sink was out of soap, and the faucets were caked in a crust and had no hot water running to them. We have visited this location before with no issue, but have no desire to return to a Benihana after this showcase of chaos. There are plenty of other hibachi restaurants in the Chicagoland area and fabulous eateries in Oakbrook.
