Black&Blue is a contemporary American Steakhouse with Las Vegas flair, and a 21 and up dining experience. B&B was recently named San Diego’s “Most Romantic Steakhouse” by the San Diego Union Tribune, and most recently awarded as the Best Steak House Best Seafood by San Diego A-list! At B&B we offer the choicest meats, freshest seafood and most dazzling desserts to delight the mind and body that will transport our guests into a world of indulgence and taste. Unwind with conversation and creative cocktails in our Black&Blue Lounge. Then move into our main room where Chef Nicholas Burgess will impress you with his inventive dishes and innovative takes on classic favorites.     🎂🌺🙃💋our first visit Now we want to find more excuses to drive to San Diego! Chris, the manager stopped to chat and made us feel like family. Luciano, our waiter, treated us like royalty. We chose the prix fixe menu and were amazed. The filet was tasty and cooked perfectly. The wine sauce was delicious- as everything else we ordered. We even got to meet our chef Nick and couldn’t stop telling him how much we enjoyed everything. Please thank everyone again for us!

    Food was good as always but we don't like our meats on top of the mashed potatoes it takes the taste away and blood never looks good on potatoes. Put this stuff next to it not under. This kinda ruined our experience this time

    Been eating here for decades, always excellent food and service. The big problem has become that the restaurant is now kept uncomfortably cold. Most everybody is wearing coats and jackets and diners are asking to change tables to be out of the draft. They actually have their air conditioning cranked up on high when outside temp is 50 degrees. We asked both our server and Chris the manager to turn the AC off or at least lower it, both said they would but it never happened. The lounge/bar area adjacent is at least 10 degrees warmer and quite comfortable. Is this a ploy to keep diners from staying too long or are they accommodating the staff that are moving about working? Is the lounge area warmer to sell more drinks? Whatever the case may be this is unacceptable and making an otherwise pleasant dining experience very unenjoyable. This will be a deal-breaker for us to return. I was wearing a jacket but my hands were ice cold as I left the restaurant.

    Delectible : something that is highly pleasing or delicious. Roasted red pepper tomato bisque soup topped with roasted basil for flavorful texture and color. Compliments to Nick for this evenings’ special soup creation and according to Eli, it can only get better with a sourdough roll for complete enjoyment. She’s right! My favorite specialty drink, especially for the holidays, O’Reilly’s specialty stinger ( you have to like sweet, it has a hint of Grand Marnier) Over-and-over the Chilean sea bass with lemon risotto still my favorite. The Prix Fixe $70 includes choice of soup or salad (you also have a choice of salad type) Appetizer: spicy almonds, olives, cheese, Delicious varieties of bread and butter, main entree, it doesn’t stop there, a choice of dessert, and coffee with chocolate spoons, biscotti’s dipped in white or dark chocolate!! Enviable Desired or sought after (By other restaurants in the area) The experience is created by a great work ethic and a calm exterior in the mist of chaotic scenarios and it takes extraordinary people that we find in all the eating Venus here at VV but especially at The Black & Blue Steakhouse. These are the people that strive to make our evening so enjoyable. This also extends to the morning cafe team that serves us our morning coffee and scrumptious muffins and delicious breakfast entrees. It’s food paired with a warm sense of hospitality.
