Chef-owned, Blades' Bistro features innovative international cuisine known for its open kitchen, quality menu offerings, and attentive service in a casual, country setting. Specialties include Grilled Salmon, Chicken Française and Roasted Beets topped with Goat Cheese, Fried Calamari and world class French Onion Soup along with salad courses, daily specials, seasonal entrees, and homemade desserts. The owners are committed to use fresh ingredients and support their Local Farmers whenever possible. Look for exciting Wine Dinners pared with wines from regions from all over the world. Blades' Bistro is a classy blend of classic, whimsical; it is an oasis of sophistication thriving in Placitas. Everything about Blades' Bistro is nicer than you expect, in the best possible way.               Absolutely wonderful meal in a very pleasant and enjoyable atmosphere. The staff is professional but warm and friendly. We have dined there several times and the food always shows the chef’s talent and careful preparation. It has become my favorite restaurant!

              Our waiter, Scott, was unpretentious and attentive. The muscles and New England Clam Chowder were excellent. Good wine list. Nice ambiance. Casual yet elegant. Been dining here for years. Never disappoints.

              My meal while quite good was warm, not hot. I asked that it just be microwaved to be heated. When it came back to the table, I was warned that seemed very condescendingly that the plate was too hot to touch. Only the woman who was busing tables, delivering meals and bread asked me if my meal was OK. I definitely had the feeling that complaining was not welcomed. We have been dining at this restaurant for 16 years and the service has steadily declined. Will go back for specials but not on a regular basis. Very disappointing because we have been supporters for years.

              PRIVATE: Four of us met for supper at Blades. Two of us are recovering alcoholics. One additional person does not drink alcohol. When I told our waiter we were not having wine, he said "That's too bad." I don't appreciate that kind of stuff. If I go there again and he is our waiter, I will leave.

              Tables for two are very close together along one wall, it felt rather crowded. The service started out very well but after our dinner was served that's where it ended, once we were served, no-one came to check on us again, to refresh our drinks or anything else. When we were finished with our meal, we waited and waited for the check, and when we finally received it, we were very surprised at the price of one of the evenings specials that my wife ordered, a pasta dish that was almost $40. Their were about 30 customers in the restaurant, and due to the small size of the dining room, the noise level was intense, overall it was not a good experience and we will not return.

              Our food was delicious as usual and Steven our waiter was good. Issy, the assistant was phenomenal. She realized my knife needed to be replaced to cut my protein and replaced it without any request from me. We actually saw her more often than our waiter and she made our evening delightful.
