Hands down our favourite restaurant in London. Not only is the food quintessentially French and delectable, but enjoyed amidst the considerately spaced out tables in the happy buzz of jazz, committed staff and friendly visitors. On arrival, unavoidably thirty minutes late, the front of house were gracious and amenable and kindly not only amended our booking, but then put a note in for a speedy lunch due to our theatre tickets. We were in the wrong but they fell over themselves to help and make our experience enjoyable. Exceptional customer service. Little things like the Menu Formule and Plat du Jour being a little Francophile magic to ordering as you weigh up your options. I have never had anything other than delicious here and we’ve eaten here about five times now, all at different times of day. It’s always busy, in a pleasant hubbub kind of a way, and always charming. Things to note if further charm, are aspects like the bread being baked on the premises and gladly supplied with a salted pat of butter and replenished at your wish, then left on the table for the duration of the meal - unlike many restaurants who charge like wounded bulls for it as an extra and then whip it away when the mains arrive. Wrong! Simply put, the words to describe Zédel’s are charming, gracious, delicious and genuine. In my opinion, you cannot go wrong. A gem of a restaurant.
