Butcher & Singer, in the amazing historic location of 1500 Walnut, is an intimate and sophisticated dining experience in a relaxed clubhouse setting. We brought back the true classics from perfect Manhattans and Sidecars to hand-cut steaks and chops, and freshly caught fish. Timeless and fun for all in the continued age of the American chophouse.

    Had an outstanding experience at Butcher & Singer. We celebrated our anniversary and couldn’t have selected a better place! The manager, hostess, bartender and servers were all wonderful. We felt very special and were so happy to celebrate our anniversary at such a beautiful restaurant.

    Absolutely amazing service and quality seafood and steaks. Will be sure to definitely stop in again next time in Philadelphia. Thank you Butcher & Singer for a great meal it was enjoyed by all for our special occasion.

    Whatever Stephen Starr does, he does amazingly well! All that I can think is that butcher and singer is now supposed to be instagram fodder. As you survey the beautiful high ceilings, exquisitely draped dining room there are cell phone lights for selfies around the room. The pace of dining was off. Why wouldn’t you bring me a cocktail while I perused the menu? Then why would you deliver my bottle of wine while still on appetizers. The fire alarm went off during dinner, and although I appreciate the reassurance,the fact that I was told “oh this has been happening” didn’t really make me feel like this was the high-end restaurant that I remember. overall I am so sad to say Butcher and Singer is no longer the place for me instead of being a lovely steakhouse in a gorgeous setting, it might as well be another theme restaurant.
