Capture a magical moment of Niagara-on-the-Lake’s past as you dine in one of its most historic buildings. The four-diamond Cannery Restaurant of today is reminiscent of its former life as a canning factory in the 1800s, where Niagara peaches and tomatoes were canned until 1957. Chef Mark Longster continues to serve up the best of the region in his menus which feature the freshest local produce and fine wines. Chef Longsters food is prepared and presented perfectly, for your ultimate dining experience.

                                                                                                      The Cannery is an old school steakhouse, and that was what we were looking for. The wait staff were exceptional and the food outstanding. The wine list was very good but might have had a few more NOTL selections. Overall a great meal.

                                                                                                      Andres our server was amazing friendly and knowledgeable. He spent the time to make his personal menu recommendations and share some other local top spots to visit. We sat near the fireplace by the kitchen entrance and never felt the hustle of a kitchen pass - it was cozy warm inviting atmosphere, our portions were incredibly great for the price. We even split a salad and soup portion and it was still more than enough of a serving. We will make this a stop again in the future!

                                                                                                      Once again on our 8th Birthday Dinner for Mary, we came with happiness and left with same.The supper items we ordered the Prime Rib and side of mushrooms were perfectly presented as we ordered. The Pinot Grigio. Italian is exactly what we wanted, Ruffino's is superb. The main energy for the evening was for and from our Server Person Derek, what a catch for THE CANNERY to have him. He is a professional with all the attributes of a perfect server and greatly experienced to be sure. Derek actually made our evening and we are grateful for that. All in all and we are modest but former business types and world travelled , so when we comment on Derek we actually know what we are talking about with great joy. We like Arnold Will be Back to Cannery , which by the way is a superb dining spot. Keith and Mary

                                                                                                      Lovely ambience, only reason I didn’t give 5 stars across the board, they didn’t have enough options for people will allergies, dietary restrictions. For example, the chicken also had pancetta (I’m allergic to pork), and the fish option had pesto (I have not allergies). The service was great, and the choices of salads were fine.

                                                                                                      Ordered prime rib medium. Dinner came and the prime rib was well done. Notified the server and she took it back on my side plate. Kind of strange. Five minutes later brought another piece out and slid it from the side plate back onto my plate. The replacement prime rib was also overcooked. Not really what you would expect for a $250 meal. Our previous visit to the restaurant was exceptional.Unfortunately, this will be my last visit to the Cannery.
