   We are regular customers of Canvas. This was a disappointing special occasion. We made reservations and then waited an hour for our food. We were told it was because they had several large parties and got behind. That should not have been our problem. Frittata was overcooked, chicken sandwich was fried to death and French fries were so salty they were inedible. None of us will be back any time soon. Sorry Tavistock. You failed us this time.

   We decided to try Canvas after hearing good reviews of the spot. I’m so glad we did. The food was great, the service was excellent and the ambiance was chill. Our server Ryan was very chill and accommodating. We had the shrimp ceviche and spinach dip. Great. The steaks and chicken parm was just as great! The drinks are yummy. There wasn’t too many people outside since it was chilly but you can tell on a warm day the outside area would be jamming.

   The kitchen must have been under staffed. We are constant customers, dining for our 3rd time this week. We sat and ordered for our 3 year old grandson. We had drinks and ordered our appetizers, which came before the kid food which had been ordered 10 minutes earlier. The person who delivered the appetizers finally found the kid food. We have close friends, who we bumped into at dinner. They had ordered for their 4 year old and eventually canceled the child’s dinner and opted to go to Wendy’s. Great food, great server, but the kitchen staff need some attention.

   Canvas is a beautiful restaurant - great ambience. Unfortunately they never mark their menus as GF / Veg etc. So you always play the “can I have this” game with the server, which is frustrating for the diner and i am sure the server as well. The service started out strong and then we seemed to be “forgotten.”

   Ordered well done filet mignon and came bloody over the mashed potatoes. Lack of flavor and was charged for the other party's appetizer, which was also flavorless. Queso and spinach dip. Overpriced.

    The server was good, although we received the wrong orginal beer order, we ordered 2 hazy IPA’s and were brought lagers. Food was good, as usual.
