Finally, a New York style atmosphere and experience crosses the Hudson to Central Jersey. Char Steakhouse's innovative cuisine features only the finest cuts of Dry Aged and Prime Beef with fish delivered fresh daily. Guests will dine by landscaped views revealed by towering windows. Mahogany wood walls and ceiling treatments create an authentic steakhouse environment rivaled by none in the New Jersey dining scene. Unique features include four modern fireplaces that are the first of their kind, a curved wall of water that rains serenity in the aptly named Rain Room. Guests can enjoy 7 cuts of the finest quality dry aged beef or snack on oysters and colossal blue crab from our premier raw bar. Seating in the lounge is offered on a first come first serve basis or party goers can reserve arched custom booths for up to twelve. Our highly trained and experienced staff exhibit warmth and hospitality in welcoming Char's guests home. All of this at a prices you never thought possible.

My girlfriend and I went out for Valentine’s Day. The experience from start to finish was absolutely incredible. Our server Emma was extremely attentive, sweet and she made our date night an enjoyable experience. We order 24 oysters to start, ordered the porterhouse with a few sides. Absolutely delicious, I’d highly recommend Char to anyone for a nice evening out. Atmosphere is stunning and service was excellent. Shout out to Emma, she’s incredible!

I had a very nice time with my partner, eating at char steakhouse the day after Valentine’s Day. Obviously because of the weekend and the holiday I was expecting long wait times and a crowded space. but to my surprise, the restaurant handled everything super well and everything came out the way it was supposed to in a timely manner. The staff was nice and the food was good. Thank you to the establishment for making the night feel special .

Lovely decor and ambiance. Love the music and it was at a perfect level. Service was attentive and genuinely warm. The food was surprisingly underwhelming. Presentation was lovely but it was, for the price, blah. Had the chocolate mousse cake for dessert. Again, presentation was beautiful. It is a 4”-5” cake and upon tasting … not good. The mousse was not…well… mousse. Not smooth and dense but a granular texture. Alas, C’est la vie! We thoroughly enjoyed our waiter, Pierre!

Server Pierre was superb. However the maitre d/manager Paul was very selective in which tables he stopped by to inquire how things were. Seemed very discriminatory. That’s never a good this in the service industry. Food and drinks were good.

We went here for Valentine’s Day! I couldn’t get a table later in the evening only a 4 o’clock reservation ! It worked out perfectly! There were very few people eating at that time!! We had a wonderful waiter , wonderful food delicious steak and delicious dessert!! Would highly recommend!

All around everything was amazing. It was easy to book a reservation on open table . Did it an hour before we left to restaurant. Everybody was very polite and personable from the person seating us to our table to our waitress and all the Busing staff. The FOOD was delicious!! I thought the prices were going to be higher for the steaks, it was nyc prices. I did think the drinks were a bit $$ so 1 drink was enough unfortunately. Overall I would recommend.
