Our new San Diego home is located in the Carez Hizar House (circa 1889), a Coronado historical landmark on Loma Avenue almost at the corner of Orange Avenue. We are within walking distance to beautiful downtown Coronado, the Hotel Del Coronado, and the beach. A French inspired bistro where people feel comfortable and enjoy fresh rustic fare at reasonable prices. Sourcing locally to achieve maximum freshness and offering our customers what they want instead of following culinary trends.
If your desire is a casual tapa at the bar or a dinner with friends or colleges, Chez Loma under new management, offers an inviting space to relax, enjoy and socialize.

Celebrating our 35th anniversary. We were seated in a quaint little space with only 2 tables. It was wonderful! We shared 2 appetizers-Caesar salad and a crab cake, next a NY strip (perfectly prepared), the best frittes ever and mashed potatoes. We finished with a delicious handmade lava cake and iced cream. The sweet atmosphere, impeccably prepared food and excellent service could not be beat. Grateful to have celebrated this milestone here.

We live in Las Vegas and every time we travel to San Diego we have to go to Coronado and experience Chez Loma. We love the food and the dining experience. It is a cozy and small place. Great outdoor seating. We always prefer to eat in the bar area. The food is lovely and the service is perfect. Our waiter this evening was Gab. He has been there 6 months and goes to San Diego state. He was so awesome. That’s for the enjoyable evening once again. See you next time.

The French onion soup is Devine. The French bread perfect. Wish the butter was herb, didn’t like the sweet cinnamon flavor butter. Salmon crudo tasty.

Salmon was awful. Like something from a box. Salty and deep fried or something not a filet. I could barely eat it. However with friends you don’t make a fuss. Lovely place, good service. Horrible meal. Unbelievable. This is a gem but that meal should never have left the kitchen.

The service was good initially until our server inexplicably disappeared and we went unattended. Another server showed up with no explanation. The food was mediocre. Steaks were over cooked. Halibut was tasty but swimming in too much butter; vegetables were soggy. Also escargot was “sold out” at 6:00 pm and restaurant was not yet full - that makes no sense
