A couple enjoying each others company tucked into a banquette late in the evening…a group of girlfriends people-watching from the sidewalk tables over brunch…two neighbors stopping by to grab lunch at the bar.


These people all have one thing in common as they enjoy a meal here on Fillmore Street in Pacific Heights- Chouquet's. Whether inside our dining room or outside under the heated protection of our large awning, diners come to Chouquet’s to enjoy fresh, seasonal French bistro fare in a casual yet refined environment.     Yesterday was the third time I had lunch at the Chouquet’s. It is an awesome restaurant which gives a taste of French lifestyle and cuisine. I can only praise the people working there as they definitely made it possible to feel having lunch in Paris. I recommend Chouquet’s to each and every one who wants to travel to Paris without having to board a plane. Keep up the great work. Georges

    The food was very good; I had a delicious trout salad that served well as an entree, my friends had the beef stew (I don’t eat beef but it looked very good and she loved it) and the other had mussels which I don’t like but she seemed to like. We got the cheese plate that was really good too. The waiter was attentive. We wanted ice cream around the corner at salt and straw, so no reviews of dessert

    The food here is terrific! Wait staff is exprienced. Noise level high - ceilings are hard material. Good crowd. No ambient music. Owner chatted with us as we left. Our server, Maria, was helpful and prompt. Tight seating makes for great eavesdropping. Overall, we were very impressed. Even in Portland, OR the food - classic French - is difficult to find.     We sat outside on a perfect sunny December day. It’s a quiet neighborhood up in that part of Fillmore in SF and they make the outside seating spacious and pleasant. We all had salads and desserts for lunch. The plates are appetizing and the ingredients fresh. The salade Niçoise was delicious and the dressing amazing. The crème brûlée was the standout for dessert, not too sweet and perfect consistency. Very friendly service in addition to all of this, it’s a winner and I’ll keep on patronizing this place along with all the regulars who hang out in this fun welcoming restaurant.

    Stefane is an amazing host. We had another delightful family meal there. Standouts at our table were the pork rib and the chocolate fondant.

    Dining today at Choquette's was just like being in a Paris cafe. OO LA LA! It's a chilly SF Day so we opted for the French Onion Soup - OMG deeelicous. Paid for bread and great butter and shared a lovely butter lettuce salad Ala French vinaigrette. All wonderful BUT they could have put a bit more dressing on the great fresh butter lettuce leaves and I could have requested more but didn't. All in all - we'll return soon.

    “It was just like being at a café in France!” Exclaimed our 89 year old aunt who loved her steak frites with pepper corn sauce. The food is outstanding here. Service equally wonderful. The short ribs tender and flavorful. Apple tartin had the right amount of tartness and paired well with our lattes. “If I still lived in SF I’d be here every week.”
