Welcome to Copperwood Tavern, located in Shirlington Village. Our menu offers an array of scratch-made dishes and seasonal flavors along with a selection of handcrafted cocktails, 20 Virginia craft beers on tap, and an extensive selection of bourbons and Virginia wines. Copperwood exudes a cozy cabin-style vibe; great for a date night, business lunch, or weekend brunch with the family.
Join us weekdays for lunch, happy hour $2 oysters from 3-6, or dinner!
On weekends we offer brunch from 9am-4pm featuring classics such as chicken and waffles, shrimp and grits, and bananas foster French toast along with a selection of brunch libations.

    We had a great experience at Copperwood Tavern this past Saturday evening. We were a group of 5 out for a nice dinner. We were NOT disappointed! We had great service, and we all enjoyed what we ordered - the filet mignons, the ribeye, the duck breast and the burger. All were delicious. We've always had great food here, and they continue to bring it. Plus, we brought two first-timers and they've already requested we return!

    Copperwood is a perfect winter spot. The menu has something delicious for everyone -- it is high-quality comfort food with plenty of veggies and sides as well as meat and fish options. The ambiance is super warm, cozy and inviting -- with classy mountain cabin vibes. The staff accommodated additions to our party and seating requests, despite being very busy. The service was great -- drinks and food came out quickly and correctly. We ordered cocktails, salads, oysters, a variety of entrees, and desserts. Not a bad choice among them. I'll be hanging at CT this winter, an you should too.

    We selected Copperwood Tavern as it is close to Signature Theatre - a short walk from the theatre. It was decorated for the holidays. We were there at happy hour and since we wanted to eat light, we selected items from the HH menu. The food was good and well prepared. The beef sliders were a bit dry, but the other items were well prepared. It got busy after we arrived and they were slow in delivering the drinks and food. The only negative (for us), is that we had to sit across from each other (we prefer to sit side by side) and it got fairly noisy so it was difficult to hear each other. The bourbon pour was generous. We’ll go back next time we go to the theater.

    Great dinner! Loved the apps, a bit underseasoned on the duck, but the plating and flavor of everything else was superb!

    Great service and good food. We made a reso but before 11 am but it was not necessary; I would still recommend making a reso as it filled up quickly as we were leaving. Def a must try in Shirlington.

    We had a group outing where people got stuck in traffic and dropped out at the last minute. Staff were very gracious and helpful in taking care of everyone as they came in. Food is constantly good, very festive atmosphere. Perfect for our needs.
