Since the Romans left, the Italians have been operating a policy of conquering the world's palate, plate by plate, and traditionally-run family restaurants like Cotto are their failsafe. The welcome is unfailingly warm here, the decor is authentic in feel, with murals on the walls, and the pleasures of the table are taken seriously indeed. Cotto is a 5-minute walk from the London Eye and the Aquarium, perfect for before or after family outings and it's also very popular with business customers during the week. There's live music on offer, too. As for the menu, try classic Tricolor salad to start, one of more than a dozen pastas, like Spaghetti carbonara, and a main course of simply and beautifully grilled Sirloin steak. Or just opt for a pizza and be happy!

          We had a fantastic meal. It felt like we were traveling through Italy. The owners are marvellous and very warm people. They made us feel welcome even though we arrived slightly before they were opening and interrupted their staff meal. Looking forward to visiting them again on our next trip to London

          Lovely pre-theatre meal at Cotto, nice welcome, good service and excellent food and wine. Good value too with a nice buzz in the early evening.

          We have been coming to Cotto for the last decade….from the USA! Absolutely the best family-run restaurant in England. The entire menu, from pizza to pasta, is gluten-free. Leno is the best!

          Me and my partner have come here multiple times and each time they have not disappointed. The food is great quality and it has never been burnt or undercooked. The owner and the staff always have a great atmosphere and are always welcoming the customers into the restaurant. The price of the food is very reasonable and the quantity of the food is great. We will be definitely coming again in the future and I would recommend this to anyone who wants traditional Italian food.

          The food is okay but the quality/price ratio is not good. The service is terrible, they threw a glass of water on my partner and their only compensation was to change our table.

          Excellent meal for us all and fab gluten free options for our daughter. Owner is very knowledgeable on cross contamination and coeliac disease as is a coeliac himself. Would go back again next time we visit London.

          Food was ok. Service not so good. Gave us bread before we saw the menu then charged us 1.5 pounds per slice. Very rude when we asked them to split the bill.
