Fine Italian food in the very centre of Birmingham is Cucina Rustica's trademark, a comfortable, atmospheric Italian restaurant popular with both locals and tourists visiting this vibrant city. Although modern and slick in its execution, the choice of deep earthy colours and moody lighting, tactile materials such as wood and stone and the addition of characterful contemporary art and healthy, verdant plants give Cucina Rustica that slight traditional feel suggested by its name and a certain cosiness that gives it a home from home feel. Attention to detail is in every little touch here at Cucina Rustica, from the single rose placed on each table to the complementary olives produced on every guest's arrival. Equally, food is produced with great care, dishes traditionally Italian but done with flair and a certain amount of style, some unusual choices offered alongside classic favourites, all from the classic Italian cookbook and accompanied by a wide array of drinks.

Recently had dinner here and I had very high expectations. My overall experience was mediocre. The starters were ok, nothing special and the waiter wasn’t particularly attentive. Unfortunately my main course was delayed so had a watch the rest of the table eat without me. The waiter did apologies and brought it out once it was ready. When it did arrive, it was the wrong dish and thankfully I wasn’t allergic to seafood. I finally got the correct meal from the specials menu and it was far from special. Three squares of ravioli on a plate is far from special. As there was no offer as a good will gesture for the inconvenience I will not be returning.

Food was absolutely amazing. Steak cooked to perfection. Flavours were fantastic. Mouth watering. Service was attentive but not intrusive. A definite must for anyone that wants to experience amazing food. The restaurant is homely, yet elegant. I couldn't fault a single thing and I'm a food snob.

Never ceases to disappoint. Wonderful selection of wines and dishes, I’d especially recommend their specials and the meat dishes! The slow cooked ribs were FANTASTIC. lovely service and staff as well, very understanding and knowledgeable.

Lovely restaurant only ever done lunch times so always been quiet ish, staff very helpful with making changes to any dish u order , complimentary bread and oil and olives are a really lovely touch and so very tasty, (tho I hate olives, I wud ask for extra bread instead )as is all other food we ordered plenty of monk fish and king prawns in my order and a very generous portion !

Love, love, love everything about this restaurant. Every dish we had was exceptional and my mum (who is a lasagne connoisseur) said it was the best lasagne she’s ever had. We all had starters, garlic tomato pizza bread, bruschetta, gnocchi and arancini. Then we all tried different main courses and we all loved everything. Service was really good, fell off a bit at the end but overall a great experience.
