At Rosie Cannonball, we’re serving European comfort food in a lively atmosphere. The restaurant celebrates the origins of cooking through open, live fire and is centered around a wood-burning oven and grill. The menu draws inspiration from individual ingredients: local vegetables, pastas and pizzas, simple seafood and locally-sourced meat cooked over live fire. Master Sommelier June Rodil curated an expansive list of delicious wines with a strong Italian, Spanish and French focus from their favorite producers new and old, along with options from progressive New World producers. Located in a former auto shop in the vibrant Montrose neighborhood near The Menil Collection and Museum District, Clark’s Houston is the third and largest location of our popular neighborhood oyster bar and seafood restaurant. Opened in Fall 2023, Clark’s features freshly shucked oysters, crudo, lobster roll, daily fish specials, caviar and blini, bowls of chowder and cioppino as well as a much-loved burger and shoestring fries.The restaurant specializes in martinis and signature cocktails as well as an extensive Champagne and wine list. The design is light, bright, and airy with nautically-themed touches including a centerpiece fish tank, teak wood furniture, bright white walls, and blue and turquoise tones.In addition to a marble-topped oyster bar and dining room, there’s a large, covered patio for prime people watching and oyster slurping. Clark’s Houston also offers a semi-private dining room for special occasions and events.

When owner Johnny Carrabba set out on his next restaurant venture, he knew his vision would include the fond memories he had of his dear grandmother Grace Mandola. Grace, also known to the family as Mama, was a Sicilian woman born to immigrant parents in Louisiana. She had a flair for cooking, hospitality, and deep faith.She was known to make bread from scratch every Saturday for her legendary three-hour Sicilian Sunday lunches; and, her newly established family roots in Louisiana added interesting flavors to her home cooked meals. The entire Mandola family, including her five children and fourteen grandchildren, was regularly greeted in her home with smells of warm bread, well brewed sauces and homemade soups. It was around her table that her family learned the true meaning and value of relationships, friendships and good food.

    Another great evening at the bustling Galleria area Balboa Surf Club. An enjoyable dining experience was ensured by the attention from our Server, Sage. Our group, including several first-time Balboa visitors, tried...and loved, various appetizers with each then ordering separate main-fare choices. Each dinner was rated as outstanding. We also enjoyed a nice Balboa related discussion with a Manager "checking on our table" while she was assisting Servers.

    I had eaten at the Clark's Oyster in Austin, but this was my first time in Houston. The meal was excellent! I had the Texas Redfish on the Halfshell. It was perfectly done and very flavorful. The Paprika Vinaigrette on the side was pleasantly spicy and an excellent compliment. The service was terrific; attentive and well informed, but not obtrusive.

    Definitely check out Drake’s! It was an amazing experience the food the drinks… Wow! Our server Charles made such great recommendations and wine choices that paired so well with the steak! If you dine here ask for him you will not be disappointed!

    We arrived for a reservation at 5:45pm and let our server, Steph, know that we had theater tickets and she made sure we were served, not rushed, and out in time to catch our Uber to the theater. The food was delicious and Steph was so nice which made the experience that much better!
