Casual waterfront dining right on the docks of the Patchogue River, The Oar serves up fresh and delicious steaks and seafood. Chefs prepare specialties like coconut shrimp, 36 oz sizzling prime porterhouse, lobster quesadillas and fresh Bluepoint oysters and little clams which are delivered daily. Two dining rooms are decorated in traditional nautical style. I love dining at Chachama! It’s one of my favorite places to eat; however, the cologne that some of the servers wear affects my experience. Not only am I sensitive to smell, but I also have fragrance allergies. As a result, my eyes itch, and my chest tightens affecting my ability to breathe normally, just to name a few symptoms. Because of my sensitivity, I’ve always felt that there should be a universal rule for people in service to not wear fragrance or strong scents. Chachama is not a large restaurant, so multiple people wearing strong fragrances is sensory overload, and it negatively affects my experience.

As always, the food and service were wonderful! Kelly, our server, was attentive and friendly and we never waited for drink refills. Both specials and menu favorites were delicious with generous portions.
