Barbeque grew up in the South of the USA where cooks learned to slow roast cuts of meat over fire pits to make them tender. Goodman is a uniquely British interpretation of a New York grill, offering the best beef from both sides of the Atlantic. Most of the meat we serve in our Mayfair restaurant is from Nebraskan USDA corn-fed herds, but we also source many rare breeds from the Lake District, including Belted Galloway, Shorthorn and Longhorn cattle. Our other steaks include grain-fed Australian and Wagyu from Japan and Chile. Every steak on our blackboard has been dry-aged on site – it’s the best way to concentrate flavour – then we cook it over charcoal. To accompany your steak, we’re proud of the American red wine collection we have amassed – we know it’s the best way to complement red meat. Our Mayfair restaurant is located just off Regent Street.

A very quiet Tuesday night in Watford and therefore we were able to fully enjoy the surroundings and appreciate the good food at Jardin. I have never eaten authentic Mexican food before so this was a first, and not disappointed. The chicken wings and beef tortillas were excellent and the sauces with them were a delight, but the "Piece de Resistance" (sorry not sure of the Mexican equivalent) was the Duck Mole. Duck breast perfectly cooked and accompanied by two Mole chocolate sauces, one white and one brown, delightful and delicious. We also tried the cocktails, perfectly mixed and presented and as it was quiet we were able to speak with the owner and the mixologist about the background to the restaurant. As a recent start-up it has its teething problems but give itv time and it will develop into good venue for food, music and entertainment.

We booked brunch on Bank Holiday Monday and were delighted to find that the restaurant was a small independent business with lots of staff and a great family atmosphere. The service was friendly and they even made me an espresso martini that wasn’t on the menu. Food was all prepared to order and was absolutely delicious! I would highly recommend this place to anyone. It’s small but has both an upstairs and an outside dinning area. A great find 🥰❤️🥰❤️
