It all started in 1992, when Annette and Gerner Andresen opened the Lighthouse Café in Sausalito in its present form. The Andresens, both born in Denmark, had recently immigrated to the U.S., and along with them they brought the Scandinavian flair for simplicity, good quality and tasty food. The café has over the years become famous for its breakfast and lunch, with American classics like good old-fashioned burgers and a great selection of omelets, along with Scandinavian classics like Danish Meatballs or Norwegian Salmon. What a lovely dining experience, wonderful staff and attention to detail with a lovely table with a fabulous view. Our wait person Alyssa was attentive and professional as this was a perfect place to share a meal with good friends. Adored the crispy artichokes with roasted sliced potatoes and the hamburger was cooked to perfection. Thank you for an amazing dining experience.

The separate bar located across a brick enclosed pathway was quaint and the drinks were done well. The reservation was right on time and service was really nice. Our waitress was a gem, and checked in just enough. The meals (4) total, were all as ordered, came out nicely timed (following starters and salads/soups), and prepared/plated well. Definitely a spot to recommend and return to.
