Behind an unmarked door adjacent to the wine room, guests are transported to District 1 (China Town) in Saigon via Blackhouse’s 28-seat restaurant-within-a-restaurant, LSXO. A spinoff of the Little Sister brand (Manhattan Beach, Redondo Beach & Downtown Los Angeles), LSXO is love letter to the culture, heritage, and lineage of Vietnam (Vuong’s relatives hail from the region). While Little Sister is known for its French Vietnamese menu, LSXO follows the same Southeast Asian inspiration with a more refined feel. “There is no signage for LSXO—you can spot the entrance of it tucked into a section inside Bluegold, but you’ll have to know it’s there. While Bluegold is light, bright, and airy, LSXO is its darker, edgier little sister,” says Vuong. “Both restaurants operate out of the same kitchen, though the menus are completely different. Excellent quality of fish paired with imaginative new ways of combining Japanese cuisine with other cuisines, such as Korean and Mexican. Staff were friendly and open to chatting about the foods as well as taking pride in what they have to present. Know that this meal is not a belly buster meal but more of a journey for new flavors and textures. Don’t go in thinking you’re gonna feel stuffed by the end of the meal. Instead, go in with an appreciation of flavors and creativity.

We just got married and we booked the restaurant to have dinner. It was amazing! They gave us complimentary glasses of champagne. The calamari was really good 👍 the food overall was good, the chicken katsu and the rib eye tacos were really good. For dessert, the creme brulee was sooo good! :)

We went to early dinner and had the restaurant basically to ourselves. No need for a reservation, but they sat us in a separate space of our choosing, for our anniversary. The service was fantastic and food was wonderful. We will certainly be back.
