Yunnan By Potomac Noodle House strives to be an ambassador for the people and culture of Southwest China and add to the story of what it means to be Chinese-American through our lens on contemporary Yunnan cuisine. Not your typical Chinese food, the Soul Food of Yunnan is Mixian - a light and almost fluffy rice noodle - which is prepared with braised meats, rich broths and sweet, savory and spicy sauces (vegetarian options available). Other specialties include various small plates, handmade dumplings, bao buns, and satisfying desserts. Come experience the flavors of Yunnan through our unique menu, handcrafted cocktails, extensive beer, wine, & saké menu as well as a variety of non-alcoholic beverages like Pu'er tea and House Lemonade.

We are a Laotian restaurant in the heart of the neighborhood of Shaw. Baan Mae means Mom's house in Laotian. Chef Seng of Thip Khao and Padaek is serving up dishes reminiscent of her home kitchen and her mother's kitchen. Mom's House Reservation Policy:All reservations are allowed a 15-minute grace period. All parties must be present at the restaurant to be seated. Chaplin's Restaurant & Bar is a 1930's style Japanese Ramen House and cocktail bar. Chaplin's Executive Chef and Partner, Myo Htun, is originally from Burma, but was cooking ramen in Japan at a young age. Myo received a blessing from his mentor in Japan after nearly 30 years of cooking in Japan, to come to America and continue to showcase his authentic Ramen and traditional Japanese cuisine. Chaplin's Restaurant demonstrates the aesthetic of a bustling ramen house in Japan in the 1930's silent film era. There is also a large outdoor dining area that is dog friendly. Chaplin's is located in the heart of the Historic Shaw neighborhood. And it is open until last call 7 days a week. Chaplin's received a Plate certification in the Michelin Guide in 2020. And it is located steps from the convention center and popular Logan Circle, 14th street and City Market.

    The food was phenomenal, as usual! The atmosphere was exceptional. This place is such a vibe. Our server was very knowledgeable and offered suggestions without prompting; which is always a nice touch, in my opinion. I like that the food is made to order, because it gives you time to talk and enjoy the meal. There is nothing worse than having your entrée arrive while you are still working on your appetizer. Don't go by the reviews; check this place out for yourself. It is one of our favorites. Remember, any place can have an off night; are you perfect at your job every day?

    Yunnan is unfailingly great. Don’t miss the LǍONǍI POTATOES, which are perfectly pillowy soft with a crispy exterior and deliciously spiced. In other options Baked Potato Rice is excellent. Even Uncle Roger would be impressed. The MÓGŪ Shitake Mixian Noodles are an excellent vegetarian option. The Ube Rose Cheesecake and the Winter Rose Cheesecake are great options in desserts. Perfect light cheesecake with a delicious delicate flavors. Overall, a great experience. Will definitely be coming back.
