Yunnan By Potomac Noodle House strives to be an ambassador for the people and culture of Southwest China and add to the story of what it means to be Chinese-American through our lens on contemporary Yunnan cuisine. Not your typical Chinese food, the Soul Food of Yunnan is Mixian - a light and almost fluffy rice noodle - which is prepared with braised meats, rich broths and sweet, savory and spicy sauces (vegetarian options available). We are a Laotian restaurant in the heart of the neighborhood of Shaw. Baan Mae means Mom's house in Laotian. Chef Seng of Thip Khao and Padaek is serving up dishes reminiscent of her home kitchen and her mother's kitchen. Mom's House Reservation Policy:All reservations are allowed a 15-minute grace period. All parties must be present at the restaurant to be seated. Chaplin's Restaurant & Bar is a 1930's style Japanese Ramen House and cocktail bar. Chaplin's Executive Chef and Partner, Myo Htun, is originally from Burma, but was cooking ramen in Japan at a young age. Myo received a blessing from his mentor in Japan after nearly 30 years of cooking in Japan, to come to America and continue to showcase his authentic Ramen and traditional Japanese cuisine. Chaplin's Restaurant demonstrates the aesthetic of a bustling ramen house in Japan in the 1930's silent film era. There is also a large outdoor dining area that is dog friendly. Chaplin's is located in the heart of the Historic Shaw neighborhood. And it is open until last call 7 days a week. Chaplin's received a Plate certification in the Michelin Guide in 2020.     A gem hidden away from the center of Old Town Alexandria. The ambiance is calm - my mom said, "the space and music makes me feel like I am about to get a facial or massage." Our waiter went through the menu page by page, sharing the most popular dishes and his own favorites. The food was spectacular. Delicious and flavorful. The Ube Rose sticky rose was delicious, the chicken bao buns are perfectly crispy and rather large. I never knew cucumbers could taste so delicious until we tried the little 4 cucumbers. And of course the noodles are fresh with light broths and a ton of veggies. I will definitely be going back!

    My boyfriend and I went for our anniversary and we had the best time ever!! The head chef Alexis was funny, made delicious sushi, and put on a show — I even got to get in on the action with torching the wagyu!!! It was so much fun, the vibe, atmosphere, music, people — everything was spectacular! 100/10 would go again for sure.

    My experience was great. The serves were kind. The jerk chicken lollipops and Caesar Salad were my favorite. The croutons in the salad melted in my mouth.I enjoyed the Snow Crab Asian Garlic noodles. I wish it had more crab meat and that was it a bit more spicier. I had a mango mocktail , it was sooo good! I wanted to take it home.
