Always a sure thing! Great food and fun atmosphere. The hostess noted that we were celebrating a birthday and a beautiful platter with some treats was sent out for dessert!

This was our second time at Sushi By Bou, first time in Hoboken. (The first time was in Jersey City.) Each time we’ve gone was for our daughter’s birthday so it’s probably going to be annual ritual. My daughter loved it, loves the Omakase experience. She said the high quality ingredients, preparation, the sushi and overall experience were first rate. I’m personally not a sushi aficionado or a foodie critic, but I loved all of it. My one critique is the value. My daughter disagrees with me to a certain extent. I’m footing the bill so I’m viewing it from a different lens. It’s pretty pricey in my opinion although I understand that’s the going rate for omakase and similar experiences. For my purposes, I was willing to pay because my daughter loved it and her joy is priceless.

This spot has a trendy, awesome atmosphere that’s perfect for a night out. The craft cocktails are outstanding, and the food options are both diverse and exceptionally well-executed. When my partner didn’t enjoy his dish, the staff went above and beyond by comping it, showcasing their excellent customer service. Highly recommend for birthdays, date nights, or any special occasion!

I've never splurged for the 17 course omakase meal, but the 12 course is perfect and quite reasonable, although anyone who is hungry can order ore ala carte. The chefs behind the counter are friendly but not overbearing. And the atmosphere, like a Japanese speakeasy hidden behind a coffee/flower shop, adds to the ambiance. My only complaint is that, if there is a noisy group, the sound permeates the room. I highly recommend it.
