Back after many years and the food/service is still an exceptional as ever! Loved the somakase option to create your own chef’s choice menu. I don’t say this about many American restaurants at all. But Uchi is one of the best in the country by my standards! Hands down the most creative, well balanced and well-presented dishes around!

From start to finish, Shiso blew us away! We tried a variety of dishes and everything was truly outstanding. We started with the oxtail gunkan, scallop crudo, shiitake mushrooms, miso cornbread with uni on top, and the shiso chicken. For dessert, we had the sweet potato cheesecake and flan donuts—both were incredible! My sister’s favorite was the scallop crudo, but I have to say, the Shiso chicken was my top pick—Chef Raheem truly knows how to cook chicken, and it’s hands down his specialty! Every dish was so creative (who puts salami on scallops and expects it to taste magical??), making it hard to choose, but we loved how unique everything was. The menu is designed to showcase meats and fish, with a perfect balance of smoking and seasoning that feels both elevated and authentic. Shiso is doing exactly what it sets out to do, not too much, not too little. The ambiance is also fantastic! The space is so vibey and cool, with fire music, graffiti on the walls, and a super original lucky cat — it complements the food perfectly. Special shoutout to Jonah, the bartender, who was incredibly attentive and kept checking in to get our feedback. And big props to the Chef Raheem, who took his few minutes of free time in between cooking rounds to go check on customers and make sure everything was going smoothly!! We really appreciated the personalized touch—it’s clear they care about their guests. The drinks were on point too, and the prices were super fair. In a city with so many similar restaurants, Shiso stands out as something truly refreshing and different. Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for a unique, flavorful experience in Wynwood. Can’t wait to come back and try the entire menu!

PERFECT RESTAURANT! Waitor was amazing, the food recommendation was a major hit and my dance with the dancer was the cherry on top!

Truffle Udon dish was delicious. Really nice dining experience.
