The menu follows a Southern-fried meat-and-three concept, meaning diners order a meat, plus three sides. Those will include Ruthie’s mac and cheese, of course, but also white-soy-braised greens, stewed chickpeas and smoked cauliflower with a spicy soy glaze. “We’re going to be changing it a lot based on seasonality,” Hill says of the menu. “ Every vegetable has got to be fantastic because it has to stand on its own.” One thing that will help that: Hill is already growing all of the restaurant’s own herbs at his South Arlington community garden plot.

    Once again, Ruthie's All-Day made a terrific impression on our out-of-town guests - who wish they had a similar restaurant in their own neighborhood. Our group of four sampled regular menu favorites (smoked duck, roast chicken, healthy grain salad with grilled salmon) as well as one of the daily specials - grilled rockfish. We encouraged our guests to save room for dessert, and they enjoyed the campfire cookies, in-house ice cream and butterscotch pudding. Our friends now wish they lived in South Arlington!

    On a delightful outing, I ventured in for a quick meal with a family member who had just flown in from out of state. Eager to sample a bit of everything, we opted for the all-you-can-eat option, and it certainly lived up to its promise. Our experience was a feast for the senses, from the enticing display of dishes on the table to the engaging cooking experience right before our eyes. The restaurant buzzed with a constant flow of delicious food, making it feel like a celebration at every turn. Our attentive waitress ensured we were well taken care of, adding to the warmth of our dining experience.     The BBQ is some of the best I have ever eaten. The brisket tender and delicious is my favorite. We will order their Thanksgiving turkey next year and we cannot wait.

    Best BBQ outside of Texas! The weekend brunch menu is awesome except they recently removed biscuits and sausage gravy from the menu—BIG MISTAKE!!
