iSLAS means Islands, a Filipino restaurant located in Parkdale, Toronto. The name “iSLAS” represents the 7,641 islands that make up the Philippines. Filipino cuisine is a blend of Austronesian, Malay, Chinese, Spanish, American, and indigenous influences. The flavors are a combination of sweet, sour, salty, and spicy. Vinegar is a common ingredient, and dishes like Adobo are popular. Rice is a staple and is served with various meat, fish, stew, soup, and vegetable dishes. Filipino meals are communal and informal, and traditional meals include breakfast, lunch, dinner, and meriénda (afternoon snack). While utensils like forks, knives, and spoons are used, the primary utensils at a Filipino dining table are the spoon and fork.     This BBQ house is a family-favorite of ours. It is a marvelous chance to interact with your dining partners while cooking the food to your specifications. We especially like the Kalbi Short Rib and the broccoli.

    Absolutely fantastic experience at Takja. Did the tasting experience and was blown away. Kudos to our server Peter for all of the guidance and recommendations on how best to enjoy each course with various bachan. Can’t wait to return with friends and family to share the experience.

    Food was AMAZING! Very rarely do I go to a restaurant and EVERYTHING we ate was great. We got a platter for 2 that included 3 meats and 3 sides. Portions were great and it was a great deal for the money. Gave us the option of trying a lil bit of everything from the menu. We got pork ribs, beef brisket and the half chicken with cornbread, waffle sweet potato fries & Mac & cheese. Still thinking about that Mac & chese to this day! Wish I got a to go plate lol. There was enough food to make us full plus take home leftovers. I will recommend this place to everyone! Only thing I would change is I would've opted for a bigger table since we got a whole platter. It took up the entire table lol

    Great bbq, ambience and service. Beautiful building interior with high ceilings. Service was great, very friendly. Would definitely go back. Husband had gone a few weeks before with the guys and highly recommended we go together. Must get the ribs and brisket. Started with the KFC cauliflower, Shishito peppers and burnt pork ends (pork belly). All was delicious!

    The brunch was fabulous!! The Yorkie Bennie was delicious and a good sized portion! It came quick after ordering! It was fresh tasting and temperature of food was perfect! The service was top notch and all the staff were so friendly and helpful. We were meeting to catch up and chat over brunch and we probably overstayed our welcome, however, not once did we ever feel rushed and made sure to thank the staff for letting us hang out to finish our visit! Definitely a 10 out of 10 experience and would highly recommend it for any meal! Thanks to everyone at Liberty Commons for a lovely afternoon! 🎉👍
