Established in 1998, Bistro Vida is a neighborhood restaurant inspired by the great Parisian bistro culture and traditions of French cooking. Our mission is to bring the joie de vivre, comfort, and community of the City of Lights to downtown Menlo Park. The name " Vida" the Spanish word for life, was chosen as a toast to the enjoyment of life, love, and food.     Every time I have eaten here, the food is terrific! Very consistent. Service perfect. Very attentive and considerate. Definitely go here for birthday celebrations. They treat you like royalty! Love this place. Does not ever disappoint. Heading there again on the 29th for a 92nd birthday. Twice in 1 week! Prices are great too.

    Two of us enjoyed a lovely Christmas lunch. We began with the the onion soup who was delicious. We shared the seared sea scallops and vegetable risotto also delicious. For dessert I had the apple tartin and my daughter had the chocolate mousse which were excellent.. our server was friendly and professional and I think we just started a new Christmas tradition and will invite friends next year. BISTRO VIDA IS A TRUE NRIGHBORHOOD GEM

    It was a very special Christmas Eve dinner! I first heard about this restaurant when it was reviewed in the SF Chronicle 11/3/24. It was as good as it possibly could be. The food was absolutely delicious. My daughter & I ordered the steak & frites & I asked for my frites to be very crispy & for 2 dishes of aioli to dip them in & they easily accommodated me. The steak with peppercorn sauce was tender and a perfect medium rare.

    Lovely dinner on Christmas Eve. We had two service dogs with our party and our table was perfect and out of the way of other diners. I would recommend this restaurant for lunch or dinner!

    The menu is small but exceptional. Strange thing but the salad is the best i have ever had. Best greens. The crab croque monsieur was out of this world. Caviar and latkes a treat.
