Claudio Pirollo grew up in Belgium where he soon discovered his passion for cooking as he wandered around his father’s fine Italian épicerie (grocery store) and watched his mother prepare dinner every day. The dual influence of Italy and Belgium triggered Chef Pirollo’s aspirations to develop his knowledge and experience with different flavors.A Trattoria is not a pizzeria, it is an Italian-style eating establishment that is generally much less formal than a ristorante but more formal than an osteria. With the exception of not getting to see Beau, we had another outstanding evening at Caruso‘s. Our waiter Sam was fantastic, and our gifted meatball appetizer was beyond appreciated. We thoroughly enjoyed our Caesar salad, the spicy Ragu and the calamari— all were excellent. We enjoyed the bourbon, old-fashioned and the Chianti. We love coming to Caruso’s and leave feeling the same way every time.

We enjoyed our birthday celebration at Pinstripes, but I have one suggestion. The "truffle fries" were very disappointing - not tasty or hot. They were thinner than shoestring size and not at all appetizing. I recommend you rethink that offering. Everything else was very enjoyable.
