We are the lil sis of Queenstown Public House located in the Little Italy district of San Diego. Slightly smaller, but with the same basic ingredients.A beautiful, comfortable, unique, fun setting. Freshly made dishes; locally sourced, passionately created, many unique…and all delicious. A beer list changing daily, proudly from our award winning local craft SD brewers, and a wine list chosen with care from select vineyards and varietals. Named after La Jolla’s popular Open Aire Farmer’s Market, Bistro du Marché allows chef Diot to work closely with farmers to incorporate the finest local flavors into his dishes. Led by Cheffe Amélie Gadoum, Bistro du Marché incorporates quality ingredients and rigorous French technique. Signature dish includes Wild Mushroom Ravioli in Port wine Sauce. One of the specialties: Un Coq au Vin "Ivre de Bourgogne" Organic Chicken Braised in Red Wine Sauce, Yukon Gold Mashed Potato, Carrot, Mushrooms.Bistro du Marché is based on the culinary concept of “bistronomie”, that emerged in Paris. Bistronomie, is a play on words on the concepts of “bistro” and “gastronomie”. It is a form of French cuisine that emphasizes the blending of haute gastronomic expertise, seasonality, and the traditional “cuisine de terroir” found in bistros across France. The youthfulness of the bistronomie movement has succeeded in reinvigorating French classic cuisine, and raised the bar of traditional French bistros.

    Enjoyed our Thanksgiving early dinner here, they had a fixed menu for $89.95. We had a choice of first course, second course and dessert. I had the yummy pan seared sea bass. We were seated at the patio. It was pretty warm even though it was partially open air.. they had ample heaters and a fireplace. Magnificent views of the San Diego skyline. Service was top notch, our waiter was very nice and attentive. Cocktails were extra, and they were delicious. The place was packed, but didn't take away from the cozy ambiance. Would love to be back.

    Food and service could not have been better. Food was beautiful and delicious. The bronzino with potato scales was fabulous. Service perfect...but my date thought they maybe needed an additional server....since it was Thanksgiving week I let that slide a little. I would have preferred less light in the restaurant, but since it is a bistro and some people like more light...it is just a personal preference. Overall a great night to celebrate a birthday.

    JR did a fantastic job waiting on us. He gave us good recommendations and made sure we had everything we needed. This is a warm friendly Italian restaurant. Definitely needs to be added to your restaurant list!
