Happy Out is adding another string to its bow and taking on the Dublin brunch scene. At the weekend there will be an adventurous brunch menu with a variety of coffees and brewing methods to explore. During the week, we will be giving the people what the want; coffee, toasties and a full breakfast menu.There are seats in the middle around the open kitchen so you can enjoy the hustle and bustle of everything going on. Down the back there is a bright mezzanine area with a skylight and then we have some outdoor table in our lovely sun trap out the back.This brick and mortar style cafe is the love child of one of the owners, Brian. The Woollen Mills has been one of the most iconic buildings and businesses in Dublin for over one hundred years, and to have taken over this site is a serious privilege. Much like our award-winning sister restaurant next door, The Winding Stair, we feel like we are custodians of something very special... a piece of history (James Joyce worked here, how unbelievable is that?!) and we must do it proud! Excellent service, speedy with a smile. Could have done with spoons for our desserts though! Cosy atmosphere and a roaring fire to warm us on a grey day in January. Stew was a bit salty. Apart from that, the food was wholesome and visually appealing. Would recommend the soup and Focaccia chicken.

We visited Dublin for new years and were told by many to make sure we got a reservation at the ivy while we were there. It did not disappoint! The ambience was beautiful and our waitress was one of the sweetest and nicest person. The food, drinks, and desert were all delicious! We will definitely be going back if we are ever in Dublin again!
