Really great steak. Love the old spot ribs. Bernaise sauce, Ash Baked Beetroot and Sticky toffee pudding all really good, as were all the other dishes. The service and the atmosphere make you glad to be alive, even in January. All this with a pretty full house, at lunch. You should go here.

We had an excellent lunch today. My only criticism is the staff at times were too attentive clearing glasses and cups from individuals - it was an obvious selling technique which became annoying as it occurred several times by various staff. Most people can request additional drinks if needed. Based upon your tipping criteria this means higher bills and therefore higher tips if more drinks are purchased.

One of the best meals out I’ve had in ages. Blacklock might be my new favourite Manchester restaurant. I loved everything about it - low key, unpretentious but such high-quality. Friendly staff, efficient service. It’s really excellent.

We had the afternoon tea in celebration of my late mother 90 th birthday, she loved going to the houghwood with my late father. As per usual excellent food and service.
