We came in somewhat skeptical after feeling underwhelmed with Alobar and Alouette but Alo impressed on all fronts. Alo had incredibly friendly and effective serving staff and noise was kept to a comfortable conversational volume. The food was incredible and service was timed impeccably so you never felt that you were waiting nor rushed. There were zero misses with the plates and at least half of them will go down as all time favourites for myself. The seafood dishes in particular (of which there were many) were well balanced with exceptionally high quality ingredients. 10/10 I plan on going again in the future.

My second visit to Aloette, and there will definitely be a third. A really enjoyable evening of great food and great service (thanks Miss K.!). The Octopus Carpaccio was (again) superb. I made the difficult decision of skipping the Fried Chicken in favour of the Black Truffle Burger, but ‘til next time !

We’ve always been to the Montreal location, and Toronto is just as excellent ! Service was slow, had to call our server over when we were ready to order. When we asked for the bill, he brought it over, and then did a million other things while we had our card out and was ready to leave. He then sat down at the table behind us, brought bills to two other girls, billed them out and was pulling his phone out. We were annoyed at the end, but the food was amazing.

We finally tried Alo after hearing much great things. We sat at “The Bar at Alo” for a St-Valentines fixed menu. The Service was outstanding from all staff and the food / cocktails were indeed deserving of their Michelin Star. Ambiance and decor in the bar area was a bit dark for our taste. I found the prices to be a bit steep, but not outside the norm at this level. The wine pairing was interesting and will get two of their featured bottles. However, I wonder why they chose to feature a US bottle in their pairing at this particular time. Overall great experience, will likely try their main dining area in the near future.

Vela has been on the list of places to visit for some time. Since Marvin left 7Enoteca in Oakville and took the helm at Vela, we have wanted to get round to check it out. Fortunately today we were able to dine at Vela and it did not disappoint! (Other than Marvin not being in for todays service). The environment is stunning. The food is amazing. The service was attentive. (Many thanks Sandy, not only on the food advice, but the wine advice as well!) We thoroughly enjoyed the evening and look forward to returning to try the tasting menu at the counter. That type of experience is right up our alley!
