Just a few steps from the hustle and bustle of Yonge and Bloor, Bumpkin’s has been a local landmark since 1971, serving the very best in French continental cuisine with an old world Parisian feel. The newly updated two-story Victorian house has a handsomely sophisticated interior, featuring two fireplaces and a set of crystal chandeliers, that once graced the interior of the Royal York Hotel, and beautiful pieces of art throughout the restaurant. During the spring and summer months, Bumpkins offers an outdoor dining experience on their terrace, complete with a view of Norman Jewison parkette. Distinct to the menu is a selection of masterfully conceived dishes ranging from the baked garlic butter escargot bourguignon to veal chop with mushrooms to the steamed fresh P.E.I mussels. This place did not disappoint. Excellent food, everything we had (4 people sharing) was just amazing. Service was great, some good recommendations from our server on how many dishes to share. Save room for dessert too - a small but mighty dessert menu! One small criticism was that we felt a bit rushed at the end, they had a booking after us at 9:30pm - tables of 4 have 2 hours I guess, but we weren’t seated until 7:45 for our own booking. It just felt like it brought the dinner to a very abrupt end!

We wanted a quiet Christmas dinner just for the two of us. This restaurant absolutely delivered all that and more. The initial greeting as you walked in was superb and inviting. Staff and owner was very attentive and made us feel like family, that was amazing. The recommendations on the food and drink was A+. We will definitely recommend and return for more laughs and great food/cocktails. Thank you for a wonderful experience Bumpkin.

Food was amazing, and the staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. Drinks were fantastic, overall 10/10 experience. Must try the polenta fries, Brie brûlée, an amazing burger, pumpkin mac and cheese, and the beef tartare. Everything was outstanding! We’ll definitely be back!
