Kai Mayfair’s cuisine has its foundation in Nanyang Chinese cooking, the region located within the South Seas of China. It takes a ‘Liberated’ approach to Chinese cooking, respectful of the flavours from its Chinese heritage but not bound by it, offering a menu primarily of specialities unique to Kai. This long-established restaurant in Ealing is known affectionately by its customers as “Mrs Chow’s” in homage to the lady in charge of the cooking, who believes in using fresh, natural ingredients. Feeling adventurous? Swap sesame prawn toast for “shredded jellyfish with three delicacies” or “frog’s leg in black bean sauce”. Yauatcha Soho, located in the heart of vibrant London, is an all-day dim sum teahouse offering a wide selection of modern authentic dim sum alongside European patisserie and an extensive range of teas, wine and cocktails. The design of the restaurant is a modern interpretation of the old Chinese teahouse. At the same time, the lighting and seating embodies the atmosphere of a vibrant ‘chatter shop’, similar to the traditional Hong Kong dim sum restaurants.
