Hutong at The Shard’s cuisine takes its inspiration from the dishes served in the imperial palaces of what was then Peking. Yauatcha City opened in May 2015 in Broadgate Circle, just outside Liverpool Street Station. This is Yauatcha’s second UK location following the success of its award winning restaurant in Soho. Yauatcha City is an all-day dim sum teahouse, where friends and family gather to catch up over a wide selection of dim sum, wok dishes, tea and cocktails. At last another decent Chinese restaurant in SE London, there are so few. Very good food, clean, fresh, unadulterated with good ingredients. Rapid and effective service. Very good value. Some very good wines available although we did not drink them. Boring and sterile surroundings though, although convenient location wise. Otherwise recommended.

The staff were very accommodating considering we were a large table with a child which can be a bit chaotic. Dim Sum was great as per usual, we’ve been coming to Dragon Castle for a few years for a family meal and it never disappoints. A great selection of Cantonese breakfast classics. 10/10 would visit again.
