Yauatcha City opened in May 2015 in Broadgate Circle, just outside Liverpool Street Station. This is Yauatcha’s second UK location following the success of its award winning restaurant in Soho. Yauatcha City is an all-day dim sum teahouse, where friends and family gather to catch up over a wide selection of dim sum, wok dishes, tea and cocktails. To complement the cuisine, the drinks menu comprises nearly 40 types of tea, as well as cocktails inspired by Chinese ingredients and a broad wine and Champagne list. Yauatcha’s first standalone patisserie, Yauatcha Patisserie, is located just below the restaurant, where Chinese heritage and modern European cooking techniques have inspired the pastry team to create a range of unique macarons, petits gateaux and chocolates.

Situated on level 33 of The Shard, Hutong at The Shard serves the fascinating and diverse cuisines of Northern China and is based on the much-loved restaurant of the same name in Hong Kong. Hutong at The Shard’s cuisine takes its inspiration from the dishes served in the imperial palaces of what was then Peking. Based on the ‘Lu school’ cuisine of Shandong Province, the menu artfully captures the subtlety and surprises of Northern Chinese cooking. We celebrated a birthday with a bottomless brunch and had an amazing time! The food was absolutely delicious, with generous portions that left everyone satisfied. The selection of cocktails was fantastic, and everything came out quickly which was perfect for a 90 minute seating. Highly recommend!

At last another decent Chinese restaurant in SE London, there are so few. Very good food, clean, fresh, unadulterated with good ingredients. Rapid and effective service. Very good value. Some very good wines available although we did not drink them. Boring and sterile surroundings though, although convenient location wise. Otherwise recommended.
