Chef Mathew Peters, the first American to win the prestigious Bocuse d'Or in 2017, is bringing his culinary expertise to the heart of Austin with the opening of Prelude, an elevated cocktail bar and canapé lounge set in a historic home in West Austin. Everything was great except for parking. The open table website indicated that there was valet - but finding the valet stand - was challenging because it was not in front or behind the restaurant. When I finally figured out where the valet stand was - the stand was right in front of a stop sign, and you cant easily get out of your car to give to the valet w a bunch of cars behind you. I had to find a parking spot down the street. Parking in that area is a nightmare.

Really lovely restaurant and the food is delicious. The noise level is so loud that my party of 6 could barely hear each other unless we yelled. That’s the only bummer about Yamas.

Absolutely loved trying Prèlude for the first time! From our initial arrival and interaction with the sweet hostess, to our conversations with the bartenders/mixologists who patiently answered all our questions, to the stunning interior design and ambiance… this was a stand-out high end cocktail experience and we look forward to returning!
