At Hokus Pokus, the botanical ‘remedies’ are distilled, and served on the rocks instead. Although they are not claiming any health benefits, the team at the Alchemy Lab are confident the tinctures can still do wonders for your mood.Hokus Pokus is an ode to the location and heritage behind Kings Cross featuring a fascinating blend of 19th century apothecary and retro-futuristic steampunk engine room. They specialized in shoplifting, with some blackmail and extortion thrown in to make them particularly badass.This gang was notable for its longevity and skill in avoiding police detection. Their most notorious leader, Diamond Annie, was known by the London police as "the cleverest of thieves".Forty Elephants funded a life of decadence in London roaring twenties, hanging about the glamorous hotels, bars and theaters they could only dream about before their turn to crime.Glamour was both a goal and a smoke screen for the Forty Elephants, through which they created their own thrilling world of fashion. money, and fame.

Popular place with an excellent vibe. The cocktails were well made. The tacos were most impressive, with some of the best corn tortillas I have ever had; the chicken tacos should be top of your list of items to try.

In a lovely area of the hotel but we were placed at a coffee table set up - not a real table which made eating and drinking difficult as you were bent over reaching down and trying to pour your tea and eat the sandwiches. They then seemingly forgot us, we had to flag someone down to ask for more tea and when we finally flagged someone down to get the desserts they realized we didn’t get any scone service. I then had to ask twice for the bill just so we could get out as it appeared they forgot us again. They nicely took some off the bill but didn’t make the special afternoon tea date worth it.
