The Highlight Room’s real showstopper is the spectacular view of the city through a glass wall that spans the entire width of the room and folds back to allow access to the outdoor terrace. From there, guests can lift a cocktail to the expansive views — north to the Empire State Building, south to the Freedom Tower. The north and south sides of the room are lined with two-toned leather and velvet banquettes positioned to take advantage of the cityscape views from floor-to-ceiling windows.The bar, set off by wooden arches and antique mirrors, complements the greenery, and elaborate, candelabra-style chandeliers allude to the candles that would illuminate the German garden as evening fell. Layers of premium materials — plaster, brass, velvet upholstery, caramel drapery, terrazzo tiles — add a dose of playful luxury. Everything was so lovely! The wine selection, the food,, and the atmosphere. The only con of our experience was one of the servers had a bit too much attitude. She would snap our of exasperation and was so visibly annoyed at the table while we were just trying to have a good time. The saving grace of the service was this wonderful Argentinian man who was so jovial and replaced her in the service at a certain point. Other than that, highly recommend!

We didn’t have dinner here but the food sounded good. Everyone had drinks and the drinks were great. Views were incredible and the experience was worth making a reservation and the price of the drinks.

We always have a great time at Bar Contra. The staff is friendly and welcoming. Small plates from wild air are delicious and the cocktails are creative and there is something for every one. Theo is the best! We always try to sit at the bar when him and his colleague are there, usually on Fridays. Will be coming back repeatedly
