Welcome to dLeña, a Wood-Fire Mexican Cocina & Mezcaleria by Chef Richard Sandoval.dLeña is derived from the Spanish word “leña,” meaning firewood.     I had the lobster roll and truffle fries meal which was one of the best I’ve had in the city. The meal was sooooo deelish!!!! I’ve been to DH for Howard U HoCo parties but have never been for brunch. I’ll definitely be back!!! I may consider this place for my annual bday brunch.

    Great luncheon today. Lots of menu choices for winter warmers. I had the beef stew. Tender and tasted great, with a small salad and some bread. Just the right size portions, not to big and not to small. My wife had the chicken stew, and equally as satisfying. Our server was very attentive. We've been here before-sometimes good, sometimes not so much- and this is the best experience we've ever had.

    If I had to give some feedback, it would be that it is Very loud and hard to hear each other… and no I am not in my 80s lol But otherwise excellent place.  great service. Thank you so much!

    We came to celebrate my husband’s birthday and our anniversary. Loved the esthetic appropriately decorated for Christmas. Our server Merybeth was exceptional! She was welcoming very attentive, and anticipated our needs. Merybeth made our whole experience rate it 5 stars. Now the food, we ordered the Tomahawk steak with Zanahorias al carbon(roasted heirloom carrots) and papa al horno(wood-fired baked potato). The steak was cooked at medium temperature, juicy, tender and seasoned to perfection. The steak was infused with herbs flambé at our table side which made the experience exquisite! We also ordered the Queso fundido with beef and ceviche Amarillo which very delicious. Everything was beautifully plated! We will definitely be coming back!
