Our food is a celebration of the ingredients and flavors of the African diaspora connected from Asia to the Americas — global comfort food. We are proudly Black-owned, immigrant-owned, and women-owned. We believe that food is a vital aspect of community building and we envision a place that is actively engaged in highlighting the culture, art, and history of our community.- Patio dining: patio reservations are weather-dependent and may be canceled due to inclement weather. Our patios are partially covered protecting from light to moderate rain and light wind. - Timing: dinner's last seating is at 8:45pm and brunch's last seating is at 1:30pm. Your table is reserved for 90 mins for parties of 1-5 guests and 2 hrs for parties of 6+ guests.

Back Deck offers professional backyard grilling in a laid-back city setting seven days a week. Back Deck brings the outdoors inside with details like exterior carriage lighting and glazed brick in the dining room and an open kitchen that invites guests to watch the flame-licked fun. Back serves polished takes on cookout classics as well as dishes cooked over an open flame at homes across the globe. Takeout and delivery services are available via our website and Uber Eats. There are three options for seating: Standard (Indoors), High-Top (Indoors), and Outdoors. If one of these options does not appear, it is because we are currently booked for that type of seating during the date and time you are seeking. We offer a fifteen-minute grace period and ask that you call us if you will be running late or your reservation may be canceled. We allow an hour and a half for a reservation of 2 guests and 2 hours for reservations consisting of 3 or more guests. The food, expertly prepared, was delicious, with staff, including hostess, server, and assistant, working well together to create a synergy to our benefit. Holiday ambience was woven nicely into the experience as ostensibly no patrons had canceled for the evening notwithstanding the snow coming down outside in ample quantity; thank God the cabs were all running on time.

Papardelle pasta with sausage, brocolini and burratta was oustanding, aswed my cocktail The service, however, seemeed overwhelmed on a busy, but not that crowded Friday night, which they should have been prepared for, Visits from our waitress were almost non-existant to the point of having to seek her out.

An annual must for us each year prior to the Nutcracker performance. Staff is understanding (a bit late due to traffic), and accommodating to our needs. Service was spot on, not rushed, but aware that we were headed to the play. Food was delicious, and prices were reasonable. We will be back next year without a doubt!
